My Favorite 2 Books

As you all can see from the side bar off to the side, I have a little list of some of my favorite books. It is extremely hard for me to pick my top 2, because every time I read a new book, it becomes my favorite. So the books I am about to talk about, I can't say they are my real favorite ones, that's just to hard to choose, so instead, let's just say these are 2 books that are currently, and have been, my favorites for awhile. haha.

Hush Hush (and it's sequel, Crescendo)

First of all...AHHHH!! Best.Book.Ever. It's as simple as that. This is the one book I would recommend all people. I mean, it has a little of everything. I think it would be classified as a thriller, but it has mystery, drama, suspense, supernatural stuff, and a little romance. Anybody who is looking for a good read should check this book out. Just be warned, once you start reading it, you will find it very hard to put down.

Two Way Street

This is a book I really enjoyed. It was hard for me to pick another favorite, so I picked this one because I have read it about three times, and every time I read it, I love it again and again. It can be a little confusing, because chapters show the two different point of views from the main characters, and it also flashes between the past and present. It is a good read for anyone who likes a little drama/romance, with sarcastic and strong headed characters. It will make you laugh, and it will make you mad, but it is really good.

Scrapbooking

I love scrapbooking. It is more fun and wayyy more creative then just putting pictures in photo albums. You get to add cute accessories and make the book your own. So when you look back at those pictures, you don't just see a picture, but you see a story. It is also a way to be artistic. I don't know what got me interested in scrapbooking, I mean, I love taking picture, so obviously I needed a place to put them all, but I guess I just needed a hobby, and what better hobby then making something that you will get forever, and when you look back on it, you will smile, and remember the good old days. :)

Before I Fall (pg. 167 - 184)

Whoa!! There was a big moment in these few pages that were I was like "WHATT???" I almost don't want to say what it was, in case someone wants to read it, but I feel like I have to now. Anyway, before we get to the surprise, what happened is Sam gets her friends to not go to the party. Instead they have a sleepover at Ally's house. Everything is fun, the girls are having a great time laughing and just talking. They go to sleep, Sam is awake when the other girls are asleep, and she takes those moments to think about everything that has happened to her. When she does fall asleep, she wakes up to a ringing, and she freaks out because she thinks it is her alarm clock, and Friday again. It turns out to be their phone, and Ally's mom gets so terrible news. Lauren killed herself. This was what made me go "oh my goodness!!" I did not see that coming, because, the other days she live Friday, Lauren marches up to the girls and calls them out on how horrible they are. Another thing we find out, that was a little shocking, was Lauren and Lindsey were best friends in elementary school. This was surprising because making fun of Lauren is Lindsey's favorite thing to do. Wow.

Review: Okay, I was little bored at first, but at the end of the chapter, I loved it. That's really all I have to say, haha.

I ♥ Photography

A fun little fact about me, I love photography. Actually, I love taking pictures in general. If I go out with my friends, I will always have my camera. Also, on family trips, I am the one taking all the pictures. Aside from that, I love taking photography pictures of plants, or my pets. And when I am lucky, my friends will agree to model for me. I just love the artist side and creativity you can accomplish with one click of a button. I recently took the photography class at school, and it taught me how amazing non-digital work is. Photography is one hobby that I have, and will keep my whole life. I get better with every picture I take.

Before I Fall (pg 132 - 167)

This is day 2 of reliving the day Sam died. This time around, she is able to convince her mom to let her stay home, but ends up going to school a few classes into the day. The way she views the same things that keep happening, are really interesting. Like the first time she cheated during her English quiz, and got the girl in trouble, she didn't care. But the third time it happen, she feels bad, and even tells the girl "you shouldn't be nice to me." It's little things like that, that keep happening. Another thing that happened, was she decided she was mad at her boyfriend for being a jerk at the party, both times it happened, so the ignores him at school, and of course, this makes her friends think she is weird. Not much more happened in these pages, so I am looking forward to finding out if she goes to the party, and if she does, what will happen.

Review: Well, I must say I wasn't very drawn into these pages. I think this is one of those books that take a little while before you really get into it. One thing I really enjoy, is her friends. Remember, their the whole "mean girl/were better then you" group, but for some reason, I am drawn into all the scenes with her friends. I guess that's why their popular. haha. Anyway, some parts of the book, make it hard to put down, while others, like the pages I just read, didn't draw me in at all. Hopefully within a few more chapters, I will fall in love with this book.

One Tree Hill Quotes

Okay, so as you all know from my favorite tv shows box to the side, I love One Tree Hill. It is my favorite show of all time. So I wanted to share a few of my favorite quotes from the show. These are all from the earlier seasons, in case your wondering.

"People that are meant to be together always fin a way in the end." -Brooke Davis

"Some times people put up walls, not to keep people away, but to see who cares enough to tear those walls down." -Brooke Davis

"And if you are luck, if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back..." -Nathan Scott

"Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will." -Peyton Sawyer

"Life is going to push you around. It's going to beat you up, and it's going to scare you. But then, one day, you realize...your not just a survivor, you're a warrior." -Brooke Davis

"The bad guys lie to get in your bed, the good guys lie to get in your heart." -Brooke Davis

So those are some of my favorite quotes from that show. As you can see, Brooke is my favorite character off of it. :)

One Word...Amazing!

This girl sure can sing! One thing I love about YouTube is listening to people sing. I don't know, I just really enjoy it. And I just recently discovered this girl, because of this song, and all I have to say is, why was Justin Bieber discovered on YouTube, and not her? haha. Anyway, she has an amazing voice, and I wish her all the luck with her future in the music career.

Before I Fall (pg. 82 - 132)

It starts out with Sam waking up. Which is weird, because she just died in a car accident. Anyway, she wakes up feeling sick and disoriented. Her little sister wakes her up, and she doesn't quit understand what is happening, because she has full memory of what happened to her and her friends yesterday, only, now its today again. Small differences happened throughout the day, that made a pretty big difference. One of them being, she made her friends a little later to school, so this girl got the last parking spot (the first time she lived this day, they stole the spot from the girl). Anyway, this made it so she wasn't late to school, so she got to swim in the swim meet. A small change, made a big different. The whole day goes on like this, just repeating the day before, or the same day.

Review: I liked this, because even though it was the same day, and she basically did the same things, it gave a different view point on things. It also showed how she isn't as bad of a person as it seemed. It also gave a hint of mystery, like "why is this happening, why is she reliving her last day?" All in all, this pages were good, and left me wanting more.

Before I Fall (pg. 53 - 82)

The first thing that happen was the girls, Samantha, Lindsey, Elody, and Ally, get ready the big party. It's a big, at least for Sam, because tonight is the night she is going to loose her virginity. Sam's friends help her get ready by making sure her outfit is perfect and sexy, her makeup looks good, and so on. They head to car, driving pretty recklessly, not to mention they all, including the driver, had been drinking. They drive through a creepy patch of road in the middle of the woods, before coming to a really big and nice home. This, of course, is where the party is being held. So they go to the party, which by this time is all ready full of people, and the group splits up. Samantha is all alone, and doesn't know who to go talk to (and she claims she is so popular) until her boyfriend comes, all drunk.

The girls go upstairs to chill from the noise and people. Their not doing much, just gossiping and drinking, and having a good time, when all of a sudden Juliet Sykes, who Sam describes as the class loser, come over to them. She looks at Lindsey and makes eye contact and says "Your a B****" she goes on to say how she is a mean girl and a bad person. She turns to each girl and says the same thing, this of course making Lindsey mad, very mad. And...Let's just say CAT FIGHT! Just kidding. It turns into your classic bullying scene. Everyone yelling "psycho" as they push Juliet back and forth. Sam, dumps her beer on her, where she the explains a look Juliet gives her, one that she says looks like Juliet feels sorry for her. The fight goes on a little longer, until Juliet runs out. Kent, the boy that has been crushing on Sam, gives her a sad look. He defends Juliet, Sam says some not-so-friendly things, and then the cops come.

The girls leave in their car, are smoking, when their car flips. Of course a fire starts, hello, they were smoking, and Sam dies. Then goes on to say we all think she deserved what she got, but then tells us to think about it, think about what she did is really so much worse then what everyone else does.

Review: These pages were pretty good. I got bored up until the little bullying part. I love drama. Not much really to review. I wasn't to impressed, and the death scene kind of disappointed me. I was expected a huge description and stuff, but that's not what I got.

Rob vs. Russell

I don't who all out there is a fan of Survivor, but if you are, you know Rob and Russell coming back is a big deal. Now I know a lot of people are probably sick of Rob, I mean, this will be his forth season on Survivor, plus he was on The Amazing Race twice, but I for one, could love him forever. Now I will admit I could not stand him in the first season he was in. He was cocky and let's just say he hadn't really grown up yet. But when he came back for Survivor All Stars, I became a fan. I'm going to say it was mostly because of the Rob and Amber relationship that happen, cause I'm a sucker for a little romance, but yeah. I was very sad when he got voted out on Hero's vs. Villain's. And I am excited to see him come back.

Now for Russel. It's almost the opposite about how I feel toward Rob. I loved Russell in the first season he was in. I was amazed at how he found, not one, not two, but three hidden immunity idols without a clue. And he blindsided the others with it all three times. He was great...up until Hero's vs. Villains. Were he became over cocky and full of himself. Yes yes, he is great at the mind games. I mean, who on earth could sway and do all the things he did without getting voted out? Not many, and that's why he makes it to the end every time. But he forgets it is a social game, and people don't like being back stabbed and yelled at. Anyway, I was a fan of him at first, but it changed, mostly when he got Rob voted out. Bottom line is, I will be rotting for Rob between the two.

Now these two know the game, and are great at it. But unfortunately, every other player is going to want to get them out, I mean, they've had more then enough chances, I know if I played the game with them, no matter how star struck I would be, I would want them out right away.

Let it Snow

You know that white fluffy stuff that falls from the sky in the winter time. I don't know about you, but when it's snows as hard as it is right now, it puts me in a really good mood. It is so beautiful to watch it fall from the sky. I love the way it covers the bare branches of the trees, and how it sparkles when the sun hits it a certain way. I love throwing snowballs at my dog, who adores eating and playing in the snow. I love making snow angels, and snowmen. I also love wrapping up in fuzzy blankets, to watch my favorite movies, or read a great book. Most of all, I love the fact that snow brings us 2 hour delays. And right now, as I watch the snow fall from my window, I am smiling at the fact that we already have one, at 5:00 pm. It's a snowy miracle.

Before I Fall (pg. 1 - 53)

I am not very far into this book, but so far, it has kept my attention, which is always a good sign. The first 53 pages in this book tell us, the reader, the way Samantha Kingston acts, who she is friends with, and her social status at her high school. To Samantha, fitting in is the most important thing. We find this out almost right away because we learn that she doesn't mind putting other people down if it means she will look better then them. She also does what her friends say, and dates a guy she is not that much into. However, she convinces herself that they are in love, but us as a reader can see what she doesn't want to.

In her high school, being popular means sitting at the best lunch table, getting the most roses on "Cupid Day," and you get away with anything because, well, their popular. The book goes on to talk about the advantages of being popular, like stealing other people's parking spaces, and burping in the lunch room without anyone batting an eye at you. The bottom line is, at this high school, being popular is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

Review: First of all, I want to say that it is hard for me to say anything bad about a book, unless it is boring or is one I was forced to read in school. With that said, I want to say that I really enjoyed reading the first few pages of this book. It's interesting to see the mind of the popular, not always so nice, girl. Because let's face it, a lot of the times, it's a sweet, normal, down-to-earth girl you read about. So I really like that it's not like that in this book. I am excited to keep reading to find out what happens next.
